Love walking my dog on the greenway. Is there a birding or wild animal angle available to get national support? I see certain birds on the golf course I don’t see anywhere else (e.g. red winged blackbirds and owls).

Yes, let’s get the word out increasingly -Billboards, Advertising, and Door-to-Door. I’m in favor of financing a legal team to investigate the activity that has led to the BWB sub-divisions recent re-zoning and re-purposing of property designated for the purpose of sustaining a golf community, very deceitful.

I would plan on spreading my donation over three years … $500 per year.

I wish to be considered for an option to purchase 2.0 acres on the first hole of the Bay Course, adjacent to my property running toward the green of hole number one. I’m basing my request on the proposed $2.4 million cost for 150 acres, equating to approximately $16,000 per acre. My pledge is based upon being the owner of the land adjacent to my current address once the transaction is completed. I understand there will be annual taxes to the county for undeveloped land. I also understand Golf Course has complete access and priority for land usage as long as the Golf Course remains in operation. Thanks for taking the initiative to Preserve Bluewater Bay! Note: If I have previously submitted this form, I only pledge a total of $32,000.

We also own the house at 1382 Sunset Beach Dr and plan to retire there in the next few years.

Our pledge is a base amont, it may be increased depending on how close the total pledged amount is to the goal nearing the end of the pledge period.

Sharon and I were part of the original Donor group. We now pledge an additional $5K towards the $2.4M purchase price. If we get very close to the required amount, but have not yet reached it, we’ll pledge an additional $5K on top of that. Keep up the great work to preserve our green space! Purchasing land extensions for those of us who live in Balmoral is not a good option. There is a strip of Common Area that wraps around the entire development. This would add a layer of complexity to adding a 20 foot extension to a lot.

We do not live on the golf course, but we are interested in purchasing land on the golf course that perhaps another owner doesn’t want to purchase or land that is not in back of someone’s house. We have only been a resident of BWB since February. It was the green space that was the calling card making it a desirable location. I saw your signage posted at the entrances and “liked you” on FB. The 501 3 c is a plus!

We currently own a house in Southwind. We are currently living in San Antion but plan to return to the community.

As a member of the Mid Bay Rotary Club I’m pretty familiar with the Preserve Bluewater Bay organization and it’s objectives from my Rotary brothers, David Rauch and Art Jean.

When is deadline for decision?

I assume that there is thought of liability, correct?

Prior to receiving the postcard mailer this week, I had not heard any details of this issue though I’d read a long time ago that a few people were trying to put together money to buy the golf course. (Not the land). Or at least that is how it came across to me. I had no idea how close to being feasible it was and how close to the deadline we now are.

As I indicated in tonight’s meeting, I think there might be a lot more people like me who haven’t received the message either at all OR in the way that helps them really understand the seriousness. Art indicated the group has been to all the HOAs meetings, but I’m not aware of my Parkwood Square HOA presenting it to us. Maybe I missed it but we do try to follow.

Which is why, despite the dilemma of the risk of the 100k … I have some leaning toward wishing you’d consider the idea of doing the 1 year extension – especially if you don’t get enough pledges to negotiate a purchase. Could you find 100 families willing to put up 1000 understanding it would be non refundable if the purchase didn’t go forward? We’d be one.

Probably best to not act like you’re considering that extension now so you can see if without that you might really get people to pull together and just buy it now. But I hope it might be considered if you don’t get the money by the end of the month.

This amount pledged is a RMD from a Traditional IRA, which is scheduled to be withdrawn on 12/1. I would need some lead time to notify my Financial Planner to change the withdrawal to be classified and donated to a 501c (3) organization.
